Custom Furniture Handbuilt in High Springs, FL
There's a version of your home where every piece belongs — where nothing feels like a placeholder, nothing looks like it came from the same showroom as your neighbor's house, and nothing needs to be replaced in five years. That's what we build.
Rogue Aesthetic Woodwork designs and builds custom furniture for homeowners in Gainesville, High Springs, and across North Central Florida who are done settling for mass-produced pieces that look the part but don't hold up. Every project starts with a conversation — about your space, your life, and what you actually need the piece to do — and ends with solid hardwood furniture built to your exact dimensions, finished to your specification, and designed to outlast everything else in the room.
Dining tables, dressers, credenzas, beds, benches, entertainment pieces, statement altars — if it belongs in your home and it should be built from wood, we can build it. No flat-pack. No veneers. No production line. One craftsman, one shop, one piece built specifically for you.
Projects start at $5,000. Consultations are free. We serve clients throughout the Gainesville metro area in person and ship completed pieces anywhere in the United States.
Dining Tables
The anchor of your home — sized to your family, built in the species that suits your space, finished to live with the way you actually eat and gather. Solid hardwood tops with bases designed from scratch or adapted from your reference. Seats 4 to 12+.
Dressers & Bedroom Furniture
Bedroom furniture built to fit the room, not the other way around. Drawers that close the way they should, joints that don't loosen, wood that develops character over decades rather than wear.
Credenzas & Sideboards
Long, low, and intentional. Custom credenzas for dining rooms, living spaces, or home offices — configured to your storage needs with doors, drawers, or open shelving in any combination.
Benches & Seating
Entry benches, dining benches, window seats, and custom upholstered pieces with hardwood frames. Built for daily use, not display.
Statement & Signature Pieces
The pieces that don't fit a category — altars, display tables, heirloom chests, custom bars. If it matters enough to have built right, that's exactly the kind of project we take on.
Materials
Every piece is built from solid hardwood — no MDF cores, no veneer skins, no particle board. The material we use depends on the piece, the space, and what you want the wood to look like in 20 years.
Black Walnut — Deep, chocolate-brown grain with natural variation. The most requested species for dining tables and statement pieces. Ages beautifully, holds detail exceptionally well.
White Oak — Open, linear grain with a natural silver tone. Exceptionally hard and stable. The first choice for pieces that take daily punishment — dining tables, benches, entry furniture.
Hard Maple — Tight, consistent grain ranging from cream to blonde. The right choice when you want the joinery and form to speak, not the figure. Takes a stain evenly or finishes beautifully in natural.
Cherry — Warm reddish-brown that deepens with light exposure over time. One of the most rewarding species to work with — it changes and improves with age in a way no other domestic hardwood matches.
Figured & Specialty Species — Curly maple, pecky cypress, fiddleback cherry, book-matched slabs, and locally sourced material are available for clients who want something genuinely one-of-a-kind.
Available by project.
Finishes include Rubio Monocoat (our first choice for dining surfaces), Osmo Polyx Oil, and hand-applied oil-wax blends.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. Bring photos, measurements, or a description of what you're working with. We design new pieces to complement existing furniture, match established wood tones, or deliberately contrast for effect. Matching is part of the design conversation.
-
We work with locally sourced and regionally harvested material when it's available and right for the project — including urban salvage lumber from North Central Florida. Ask during your consultation if this is important to you.
-
Yes. For significant pieces — especially projects using figured, live-edge, or specialty species — we can walk through material selection together before the build begins. Seeing the actual slab or boards before they're cut is part of what makes custom woodworking worth it.
-
Minor adjustments to finish or joinery detail can sometimes be accommodated without additional cost. Scope changes that affect materials or dimensions after the build has started are priced separately and require written agreement. We avoid mid-build surprises on both sides by being thorough in the proposal phase.

Freestanding furniture is delivered and placed in your home. Installation (securing pieces to walls or floors) is available for built-in or semi-permanent pieces within our local service area. Shipping crates for out-of-area delivery are included in the project quote.

The more the better — room dimensions, photos of your space, inspiration images, any existing furniture you want the piece to work with, and a rough sense of your budget range. You don't need to have everything figured out. The consultation is where we figure it out together.
